Christmas, Alberta Style!
Ahh, yes, so I posted more snow pictures! Well, I can't help it, I got some great shots on the skating rink and toboggan hill (Mac's Hill, as I grew up calling it!) There is a picture of Ben squished up against a cement median on his tobaggon..well, that was actually a split second problem! The kid decides to head down the hill face first and aim for the "jump" at the bottom, which consisted of a few handfuls of snow packed at the bottom of the cement! Funniest thing I've seen in a long time, where Ben collides with the median and launches a good 3-4 feet in the air and lands about 8 feet from his launch point in some nice soft powder! He's lucky he didn't break his nose! And poor Riley got a face full of snow all the way down the hill when he went with Grandpa...Grandpa used his feet as brakes, and they doubled as "snow spray"! Oops! Riley was only upset for a few minutes, and then he decided he'd rather do a little exploring. Anyhow, the whole family took to the hill for an hour or so and it was so much fun! I don't think that our whole family has ever gone sledding before at the same time! So, as you can see, we had a really fun time, my holiday flew past and now I'm home! Oh, and one other little detail..by the time June comes around..I'll be an Auntie again!!!

Okay..maybe just ONE snow picture..
I know this was a few weeks ago, but I was on "Snow Strike", so I couldn't put the picture up..lol My sister Jen, her husband Stephen and their 2 kids, Ben (far right) and Riley (2nd from left) came up for a few days to go to Disney on Ice in Vancouver with Caleb (tall army kid..hehe) and Mykah (our only bella) as well as myself! It was too fun, but when the show was over and we came out, we were surprised with the start of a snow storm. Yuck! This picture was taken in Vancouver at the White Spot in Kerrisdale. We all had dinner with my Aunts and Gramma after the show. My nephews ADORE Caleb and Mykah and being able to see them a few times on their visit was like Christmas morning to these kids! Only thing better than hanging out with Caleb and Mykah, is a visit from their Uncle Chad..nobody can beat him! Anyhow, I'm hoping that when the kids are all grown up, Ben and Mykah'll hook up..lol What a cute couple they'd make! Mind you, I think Ben might have to fight his brother for her..Riley's already got his eyes on her! How cute!

Can't wait for a new season..
Time for another picture! This one's of a lily at the Minter Garden's near Agassiz, BC. I had a season's pass for there this past summer, and went there a few times. It is filled with the most amazing smells coming from the kazillion flowers! Anyhow, I can't wait for them to open again..so I can try and get some more gorgeous shots! Enjoy! And as soon as Christmas is over, I'm gonna be itching for spring!!!

Computers and Snow Plows
I have had an interesting last few days! I started a blog (for all my fans..lol) and a few hours later, when I tried to add to it, the stupid thing kept telling me I had no blog, so I started a new blog, and the old one showed up, so I deleted the new one and the old one disappeared! Argh! So, I pleaded my case to the blogging gods, and started to wait impatiently for help. Then, I noticed that when I posted comments on my blog, I noticed a had a few different identities. Hmm..got me thinking. So, when I clicked on one, there were both my blogs!! So, in a round about way, I am able to start blogging..don't ask me how, but I can! At the moment! We'll see what tomorrow holds! Sheesh! So, that'd be my first complaint..COMPUTERS! Can't live with em, can't live without em! Next complaint would be the stupid snow plows. Now, if you don't live in the lower mainland, then you may or may not have heard about our weather. Let me give you a little summary from the last few weeks: floods and pouring rain, leading to major wind storm with winds up to 120 km/h, destroying barns, grain bins, cars, knocking out power for days, which lead to a huge snow storm of 2 feet in 24 hours, now were getting another 10 or so centimeters, plus freexing rain tonite. Phew..okay, it's been a bit of a roller coaster! And I'm still driving! So here's complaint number 2..the stupid snow plows!!! You'd think they'd be clearing the main roads first, right? And maybe doing some upkeep?? Well, on my way to work Wed. nite, I had to drive 40km/h on hwy 1 (that would be the transcanada!!) because it was worse than the side roads!! Cars are littering the ditches and abandoned for days because tow trucks don't have the time to remove them. Then, I get onto the Fraser Hwy, that would be a secondary hwy. As in, not as important as the number 1. Anyhow, I pass 6 snowplows hard at work!! And they're on the side roads too!! Now, what kind of sense does that make? I mean, don't get me wrong, I very much appreciate the cleared streets, but what about the main hwy? It's treacherous! And I have no other option to get to work, other than the backroads, which are, believe it or not, worse than the hwy. Frustration! So, here's to computers and snow plows..neither of which are working well for me at the moment!!

Okay, so I've actually been blogging for about 6 months, but that was for the dragon boat team blog..so..does it count if it was on behalf of 26 women, or not?? Well..this one's all about me, my adventures and loads of my pictures! Yup! I need to showcase them in more places than just emailing them to friends! I'll pretend I'm a pro and charge all of you for coming to look..lol So, about the fee..you can mail me blank cheques, I don't mind! So, to kick off my first blog entry, I suppose I need to say something deep, meaningful and long lasting. Hmmmm...well, to quote my email signature "When life throws you lemons, trade them in for rocks and find an enemy!" Those could be words to live by..especially if you have neighbours like mine! (HA!) I just need to remember, only 2 more weeks..only 2 more weeks! Then I get new neighbours, phew! Another of my favorite quotes, stated by my least favorite celebrity as she was being interviewed by police for being a witness to a crime: "I'm, like, not that smart!" (insert giggle here) Now, who could that be?? Paris Hilton! Somebody get that girl a brain! lol Okay, enough of my rants, on to my pictures! I thought it'd be fun to post one of the pictures I took this summer while in my photography class. I choose to put this up because I detest snow and I refuse to do what everyone else is doing! I live in the past! Long live sunshine and rain! Anyhow, this was taken at Bridal Falls (in between Chilliwack and Hope, for you non-BC'ers) and it's a stream that is the run off from the big waterfall. One of my favorite pictures that I've taken thus far! So, hope you enjoy! Looking forward to all of your feedback!
