Eye on the prize(s)!

As my season has begun, I now look forward to medals, medals and more medals! Soon, the paperwork, emails, phone calls, decision making of being captain will slow down and I'll get to enjoy just "pounding some water"! So, to inspire myself, I thought I'd post a few of my favorite pics from last season! This one is from Harrison, where we won gold, despite 43 degree heat! Our boat is #4...the one with the coach hanging out over the drum! And that's tame compared to other races! In Nanaimo, she actually had to have us brace the boat so she could pick herself off the floor of the boat! Her legs were on the drum, but from her hips down, she was on the floor of the boat! Talk about a motivation factor! And her lungs aren't too bad either, lol!
Here we are with our medals from Harrison. We won a gold in the platinum women's division! Top of the heap for all the ladies teams! It was a roasting day, 4 races and 10 hours out at the lake...I was happy to get in the pool at a friends after, where I just laid for about 1/2 hour floating..I couldn't move! This is what I get excited about every spring?? Apparently so!

Well I hope the memories of good weather will keep you going today when you are out on the lake getting drenched because of the cold rain! lol- I thought I would continue our fun conversation from this morning!

Harrison is a beautiful place to be period...I can only imagine having some great memories like this on it! Hope you settle in real soon!

Well, Lyndsay..just so you know, Cultus Lake was MUCH dryer! lol Raining still? Yes, but only spitting compared to Abbotsford's buckets of water coming down! Phew! I was only half drenched after practice! Renee..I love Harrison! We race there on July 21 and we're a 2 time gold medal team with every single women's team gunning for us..could shape up to be an interesting year! lol

as captain what are your duties...do you get to yell a lot?

Haha..no yelling, yet! lol Naw, no need for that, I just get to be the one that people tell that they aren't going to practice, tell the coach, send off all the waivers and cheques to regattas on time, make people sign rosters and wiaver forms, arrange and run meetings, deal with problems, help steer the boat (and not just cuz I'm captain), help with co-captain duties while my CC is away (until mid april)..you name it..I do it!! I tell ya, I keep busy!
