Free Food?!?!
I consider myself a "White Spot Connoisseur". I even once had an argument with a waitress in Leduc, Ab after I asked for a side of Triple-O sauce and she brought me a container of mayo. She tried to convince me that what she gave me was in fact Triple-O. I protested, telling her that in fact, real Triple-O is sweet red relish mixed with mayo. I tried to explain that she was arguing with the wrong person. I told her I may as well had been born in a White Spot. Nat Bailey would be turning in his grave if he saw what was given to me! You see, I was born in Vancouver, as was my mom and her mom. My dad moved there when he was 4 and we have always loved White Spot. When we moved to Alberta in 1977, one of the things we missed the most, besides the weather and the ocean, were Legendary's with extra Triple-O. And for my mom, it was the Grills and Greens. Once, I remember my Aunt flying in for a visit and she had brought with her bags of food from White Spot! It was cold, but who cared? A quick nuke, and it was almost as good as ever! Whenever we came out for a visit, we'd be sure that the first and last place we saw was..you guessed it..the White Spot! And this leads me into my little adventure on Saturday night! I met some friends at the W.S. for dinner and for the first time ever, I decided to order something other than the burger! I ordered a chicken teryaki rice bowl and was quite excited about my choice. When I got it, it looked so yummy! I dug in and soon discovered that the rice was the same consistency as lumpy mashed potatoes..BLECH! Nothing more than gooey clumps of overcooked rice..ICK! So, my friend smarted suggested I eat up all the chicken before I ask for new rice. I did and asked the waitress for new rice and she was also grossed out by the rice. A few min. later she came back and said that all the rice would turn out the same, as all of the rice is made in a rice cooker. I told her it was a bad investment..hehe. So, she asked if I wanted noodles instead, but I didn't, so I asked for the chicken and veggies. I suppose I was now getting a stir fry. She said a rush would be put on it. Maybe 5 min. later, I had my new meal in front of me. I stabbed a piece of the chicken with my fork and quickly stuffed it in my mouth, to play catch up with Michelle (she was almost done HER dinner!) That's when I knew the dinner saga was just starting. It was not only cold, but frozen on the inside! I don't think Jess really believed me that it was that cold, till he put his finger in it and felt the chill! The waitress did the same and took the plate. Next thing I new, the manager was there and said "I hear you've had some problems with your meal" I laughed and told her "Ya, twice!" She said that the meal was on them and they would make another plate. She asked if I wanted something different, but I said no and waited. At this point, I was feeling a little full. As you know, the longer you take to eat, the quicker you fill up! So, I finally get my food and as I'm trying it out, Jess asks if it's warmer. Boy, was it! I nearly burnt my gums off! lol After finishing about 1/3 of my food..I was done. Couldn't fit anymore in! I realized after, that I had more refills on my food than I did my drink, but I still had to pay for my coke! Oh well! But, I learned a valuable lesson that night..stick to what you know! Forget the fancy stuff, just order a dang burger!!!

Preach it sister!
I only eat "non fast food" from two restaurants: Boston Pizza and Moxies. At BP's I always order pizza, and only one or two varieties at that. At Moxies I only order the Stuffed Manicotti. Anything else, anywhere else is a pointless waste of time and good hard earned money.
Oh..stuffed Manicotti..you're making my mouth water! YUM! I searced for some manicotti at some restaurant recently..couldn't find it and was so disappointed. Oh well! I'll have to try Moxie's!
Hey Doug...Moxies has great Chicken Tenders...just thought I'd let ya know...lol
As far as White Spots go...Edmonton now has one and would you believe it's a totally different menu then the one's in BC?/ I love the White Spot in AB because of the spicy turkey wrap...totally yummy....I really don't like the ones in BC. My personal opinion....
BLASPHEMY! You're too close from getting banned, my dear! lol Original White Spot is a BC thing, so if the Alberta one has a different menu..we call that a cheap knock off..hehe Don't mess with my White Spot! lol
